Phuket Holiday - Day 2, March 10, 2011

Wake up in the morning in better room. Ready to start a day. Today I can use my blackberry using local number that we get at the airport last night. A lot cheaper than you have to use Indonesia number. BHT70 for 3 days unlimited.

This morning we are ready to go to traditional market near the hotel. The market is so neat, well organized. From the outside more like Mall instead of traditional market. We buy local snack, local food, enough for brunch before we are going to City Tour with Mint, our guide today, she is working as a marketing at our hotel.

Back from market we still have 2 more hours. Gres and Linn want to go to a beach. I look at the map, there is a nearest beach, Phuket Bay. When we ask our guide, Wy, how long to get to Phuket Bay. She said only take 15 - 20 minutes walk. then we decide to walk to Phuket Bay.

In fact, it takes more than 30 minutes to go there. Suggestion, never believe local people set of time :D.
When we almost got to Phuket Bay, there is a man who offer to take us around, just paying BHT200. Everything cheaper here than Jakarta. But be careful, you have to know how far you will go. Don't get tricked.

After take photograph at Phuket Bay. Our guide brought us to souvenir shop. We didn't buy anything. Then we go to the hill, name Rang Hill. The view more like Dago Upper Side in Bandung. From Rang Hill we back to the hotel and still have time to take lunch at Sea U Restaurant, in front of our hotel. The restaurant is nice, the food is good, delicious. Service also good.

At 2 past 10, we picked by Mint our tour guide. We start our city tour from Big Buddha.
The Big Statue is in the hill, named Nakerd Hill, between Chalong and Kata.

About 10 years ago a group of friends were walking through the forest in the Nakkerd Hills between Chalong and Kata when they stumbled upon a place with stunning vistas of both sides of the island – Chalong Bay lay in one direction while on the other they looked down over Kata and the Andaman Sea. It would, they thought, make a perfect place for a viewpoint – something that could become as well known as Phuket’s favourite sunset viewpoint, at Laem Phromthep.

From Big Buddha we head to Promthep Cape to see sunset. unfortunately we arrived earlier. Didn't have a chance to see sunset. we just take a picture.

From Promthep we take dinner at Rawai Beach. Enjoying Seafood menu while sunset.

Back to the hotel, we were planning our trip for tomorrow. We were look to some local travel agent. We've been lucky that there was a guide who drive us to look travel package that suit with us. Finally, we get Phi Phi Island and James Bond Island, both VIP with canoeing at BHT2000. Cheaper compare to Bali.

Can't wait to see Phi Phi Island, location where "Beach" movie that cast by Leonardo DiCaprio. Even if Tsunami happen, the beach still kept their beauty.
