Phuket Holiday – Day 1, March 9, 2011

The day has come. Finally go to Phuket after 8 month booking flight.

Our flight etd at 5.40 PM from Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Check in and boarding. Phuket here we come!!
We are landing @ Phuket International Airport around 8.11 PM. There is no different time between Phuket and Jakarta. The Airport seems small, then I realize it small because we are @ arrival section.

As per our friend guidance, that we have to look for taxi to go to our hotel. You have to bargain, that’s my friend told me, he gave a hint that charges to our hotel from airport around BHT600. Then we are looking inside the airport, and we get rate around BHT800, no less. We decide to look outside the airport, we get rate at BHT900, but after bargain we are finally get rate at BHT600.
After 30 minutes we arrived at our hotel Phuket Backpacker.

The hotel no to big, location near traditional market. In front of the hotel there is pub. Small but nice. Crowded by tourist. After check-in we go to our room at 2nd floor. But Me and my friend Ira get behind and we go to the wrong floor at rooftop. That’s so funny, when we met with other guest, he laugh out loud.
But, the room isn’t like we expected. It’s more like dorm room. There is no cupboard. bathroom outside, and room smell so bad, since we have roommate that already stay almost a month there.

Actually the service is good. Nice environment and you will feel like home. We also get free beer. After cleaning our room (you do it by yourself, no room service), we sit at the cafe in front the hotel. There is a pool table there, we take some picture and decide to walk around the hotel.
After walk a view block, we find nice pub, they have live music. We hang out there for a while. Neighborhood around hotel is more like small city in Indonesia. When we walk the ambient is like Braga Street in Bandung, Indonesia.

Back to the hotel we decide to upgrade our room to better one. Not in the same building, but we get nice room. More civilize
Time to rest after long journey. We have to prepare ourselves for tomorrow morning. Tomorrow we will go to traditional market near the hotel, and in the afternoon we go City Tour to Big Buddha, Rawai Beach, Promthep Cape to see sunset.
